Gus' favorite week of the summer
Pap and Granna came for a week-long visit in July and boy, do the pictures tell the story of how much Gus enjoyed his summer staycation with his grandparents.
We've been practicing looking into the camera and smiling, but these shots are genuine Gus.
They make me very happy.

Beautiful
Fresh from the Bahnson Family Garden (which I'm blessed enough to be near)a gaggle (school? pile? den? bunch?) of red, white and blue potatos that make me want to run out and buy an artisan hand-potted bowl to serve in, because they look so precious to me.
I love summer for it's hard-working, goal-oriented nature. Make stuff and put it out there. My kind of season.

So big, such a boy!
Proud to show off his new boy haircut and a new pair of shorts from Osi, these cover the knees, which is nice we realize.
Yep, feeling stylish and working the camera, "cheese" is the operative word...
OK, Momma that's enough
Momma? Momma? Are you in there?
I know I'm so handsome and you can't get enough pictures of me.
Happy Fourth!
Gus loved the fireworks, which we watched from an abandoned loft fire escape/stairway that intrepid Jacob found on a whim...we had a good view...save for a few powerlines...proud of how well my camera captured the fireworks...happy Fourth to everyone!

Two Brothers for Gus
We've been fortunate enough to make the acquaintance of a Swiss family staying up the street with a neighbor of ours. Sons, Lupino, 11, and Livio, 9, have been a great addition to our outings to the forest as both love to swim in wild lakes and don't mind a bit of mud and muck in the least.
Gus adores these two and works hard to stay just a foot or so behind them. He even seeks to hold Livio's hand as we walk and hike places...very sweet.

Danke vielmal, Osi, fuer's liebe Paeckli. Ich han mich ueber's Feuerwehr T-shirt sehr gfreut. Alles liebi und en grosse Schmatz vom Gus.
Two Boys, Wow!
Rion came to play with Gus this morning and early afternoon and it was non-stop fun. We kept moving from the front yard to the backyard, to the garden patch, back to the porch swing and back...endless, leisurely circles for the sole purpose of play and fun and discovery.
They were so much fun to watch, such good buds who compliment each other well.
First Day
First Day as a full-time firefighter with the Hendersonville City Fire Department! Think of him today, please. I don't know what to pray for...lots of exciting calls or a calm quiet day to settle in...take your pick...he'll likely get some of both...
So handsome with such a brave heart.
